Apricot Blossom Euphoria
The Danube valley not only holds a great abundance of treasures, but also changes its appearance in a fascinating way with the seasons. Every year in spring the apricot blossom transforms the Wachau into a dreamlike paradise when millions of flowers blossom and cover the landscape in white and pink.
In the summer months it transforms into a Garden of Eden with apricots, vineyard peaches, pears, apples, cherries and figs as well as lesser known fruits such as Dirndl or Kriecherl.
The region shows itself in its most splendid colours in autumn and invites you to take walks and hikes through the vineyards. This is the high season for amateur photographers, when the golden yellow and pink vineyards glow in the light of the sun. The natural spectacle of the seasons can also be seen in our extensive gardens, which reflect not only the wine but also all the fruit varieties of the Wachau.
Danube Boat Cruises
A trip to the Wachau is simply not complete without a boat trip on the Danube: From the river, you get the best views of the World Heritage cultural landscape with its stone wine terraces and original towns and villages.
For added convenience you can also combine a boat trip with buses and the Wachau train (on weekends) – bicycles can also be taken along.
For those who are interested in a historical Danube cruise, the Navigation Museum Spitz offers a variety of exciting insights into technology and history.

Beautiful Viewpoints
The reason why the Wachau is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site is evident from its numerous stunning viewpoints, such as the ruins of Dürnstein, Aggstein or Hinterhaus:
Your gaze wanders over the red tiled roofs of the small villages, the wine terraces and orchards down to the Danube with its ships, ferries and barges – simply magical! Of course we are pleased to tell you our secret “Prime Seat Locations”.
