With a length of 33 km, the Wachau is only a short part of the 2800 km long Danube; but this unique ensemble of natural and cultural landscapes is one of the exquisite UNESCO World Heritage Sites. There are fascinating landmarks, the winding Danube valley, the rugged forests and rock formations, as well as the man-made wine terraces and characteristic villages, monasteries and castles that complement each other in unique harmony.
