In March 2013 we have completed our extensive renovatiions. On about 400 square meters on the first floor the infrastructure (heating, water, electric) was completely renewed and simultaneously we've been investing in CO2 reducing measures. The new Guest Rooms Superior have been "revived" according to the original floor plans, provided with the former stucco elements and equipped with high-quality furniture (including FBF box spring beds, KA International armchairs, Dotzauer chandeliers and antiques)
The elevator will be especially appreciated by our guests residing in the apartments on the top floor; the new terrace is a real "oasis for relaxation" with breathtaking views of the garden and the vineyards.
In December 2014, the apartment in the south-east end was architectually modified; we improved comfort and quality.
In spring 2014 and 2015, we also diversified our fruit plantations. Currently, we have around 200 fruit trees, which include 147 pears, 25 apricot, 13 apple, seven nut / almond, three quince, seven peach, two figs, two cornell cherry, one cherry, one plum, two kiwi and one chestnut tree, next to other wine and berry trees. Like this, we are able to provide our home grown, fresh fruits to our guests for breakfast. Together with our partner Obsthof Reisinger we also produce fresh single-origin fruit juices.
In November 2015 we have renovated the roof on the east-side of the building, according to the regulations of the protection of historic buildings. With new insulation, we have also improved the energy consumption of the building.
Following our sustainability strategy, we have switching to an environmentally friendly, battery-driven lawnmower in spring 2017, which allows for an even cut of the lawn throughout the entire season thanks to the GPS control. At the front side of the house we have also built an additional terrace, so our guests can enjoy the sun for longer. Due to the positive feedback we received from our Superior Room guests, we will now additionally equip all other room categories with the comfortable box-spring beds in the new season.
